New seats and how i did it !!!!

Hello everyone,

A few weeks ago i bought two seats (sport style or race style).
To install the driver side seat it was easy. But, the passager one.....was not so easy at all,
because of those fu***ng sensors of course.

First, here's my new seats....

And this is the first part of the installation....

One thing to keep in mind (very important); Never disconnect any sensors during the installation (except the seat belt one, there's no probleme if you disconnect this one).
If one or more sensors is disconnected, you have to go to the dealer as soon as possible to reset the system.

Here's how those sensors works...

There's four sensors under the passenger seat called "OCSAA" (Occupant Classification System for Advanced Airbag) and they works depending the weight of the passenger. Those sensors send a signal to the "ECU" (Electronic Control Unit) of the system (also under the seat) to determine the speed of the airbag explosion.

Those sensors support the total weight of the passenger and the seat with a bolt (fix point)on each of them.

Here's some pics to explain (sorry the texts in the pics are in french but i traduced them)....

There's four sensors under the passenger seat and they works depending the weight of the passenger.
A "fix point" (bolt) move beside the sensor to send a signal to the ECU.

This is one of the "fix points" of the seat and the sensors

One part of the sensor assembly move depending the weight of the passenger.

The rear sensor (right side) and his bolt (fix point) on the seat.

The front and rear fix point.

The front right sensor...

The rear right sensor...

Those four sensors without the seat.....

And now some modifications to install my new seat.
Of course i kept the original tracks but i made new brackets to put the seat at the same height of the driver one. If i kept the original brackets, the seat will be 4 inch too high. Nothing was broken, damaged or cut, just in case i have to put back the original seat !!!

...to be continued tomorrow.... (sunday).........
