195/50/16 or 205/40/17?

I'm having a very difficult time deciding on which rim size to go with (16 or 17), along with the tire size. I like the idea of the 16" and tire size keeping it 23.7 on the speed sensor reading, but the 17" one is only 23.5, not a big deal. What are the pros and cons of each size? I really wouldn't mind the 17"s but just not sure if I'd encounter rubbing while turning or not, 205 seems like a pretty wide size.
