Dash rattle TSB needed !

I suffer a dash rattle inside the instrument cluster.
This only occurs with a cold interior. (e.g. when i leave in the morning)
After a few km's it's gone.
My local dealer "can't find" a TSB, but i've heard about a padding kit somewhere in one of the posts here.
Can anyone post the TSB or the Toyota-number of that kit ?
Thanks up front !

It would be great if all TSB's were located in a specially dedicated section on our forum.

Do you think it's a good idea?

Can anybody help with this?

Who can make it happen?

It happened to me. The dealership threw foam strips behind the gauge cluster bezel.

mine did for about 1k miles - then it stopped, but now my drivers side mirror is making a buzzing sound at higher rpms - i've just about given up, seems like you'll always be chasing rattles in this car...

take the dash apart.. its a pull type. no need to worry. some areas you need to pull harder since its clip on.. but in the end get electrical tape and put it on the ends of these prongs right behind the dash cluster.. only the prongs.. they have NO padding whatsoever.. since then no rattle.. it's been a year and no problems :)

Very interesting. Just yesterday I noticed a rattle behind the dash. I didn't know there was a TSB out for it.

It would be very hard to mistake a dash gauge cluster rattle for an air box rattle. The issue here is the dash gauge cluster.

There's a TSB for early 07 camry's dash rattle. My toyota dealer did that TSB on my yaris.... it went away for couple days, but came back after... then i found out the noise came directly between the cluster and the cluster cover....

welcome to the club . This is what you get with cheap plastics . Done the instrument cluster fix for the '08 sedan . Got to the point where it's best to turn up the stereo or keep window down during warm weather so wind road /noise drowns out the rattles . Seems like the more rattles I repair the more pop up that were in unison with other noises or covered by the louder squeaks / rattles .

is it happen when the rpm is low? Mine also has a problem of rattle noice and the dealer said it's from the dash board. However, they reinstall the foam and said it's gone. It actually didn't gone. I just drive it and it happen again. I am gonna take my car to them to have one more time fix....it's the fourth time I am gonna be there for my car...
I want to make sure if my case is really a dash board problem ....

I just had my dash rattle fixed today per the above mentioned TSB. My rattle occurred in warm temperatures particularly when I first start out in 1st gear.

The funny thing is that the dealer originally told me that it would take 1 or 2 days to fix the rattle and that I would have to leave the car for that period. It turns out that the repair took 1 hour. The rattle is gone.

that's not really unreasonable. until the TSB was released, they would have to search the car for the source of the issue. once Toyota says "hey, the rattle problem is this and here is how to fix it," they no longer have to go through the problem of diagnosis and can perform the predetermined repair.
