No just keep your own record of when it was changed.

If you DON'T change your oil it'll eventually void your warranty.

Jeez...all we need now is for you guys to start talking about floormat options and you'll be worse than the new MINI community. ;)

It won't void the warranty provided you follow all the manufacturers recommendations. That means the mileage intervals, oil type and weight, and proper filter. Don't try to cheap out, keep written records and all receipts and you'll be OK.

My mom's friend took her older Corolla in the dealership to get her oil changed. They called her and she was good to go. She drove off and then her engine stopped working...the dealership forgot to put oil in...

i had a friend who's parents got divorced. His mother not knowing anything about cars was driving them to school and the car stopped working. She had it towed and the mechanic said there was no oil in the car, she replied? "it needs oil? I thought that was a luxury to make it run smoother?!" no joke.. lol some people

Beleive it. my (EX) girlfriend had a Jeep Cj and had Jeep change the oil and lube - same deal - old oil out, NO oil back in! Then My OTHER girlfriend had her Subaru serviced at the Subie place and they did it a bit different, new FILTER, new oil - but leave the old oil in. So oil was comming out all over the place. We broght the car back and the service manager got all cocky - like it was no big deal. Man I wanted to clock him good * but visions of having "big bubba" riding my arse in the PEN always tempers my TeMper JUST the right amount

the bro

My mom's Nissan Quest, before I got into cars, had the same oil for 150k miles. After 2 engine flushes, and new oil, that thing ran like a champ.

That VG30DE. PulletBroof.

From my understanding, at least in Michigan anyways, that by law the dealer or car company cannot force you to get oil changes from them unless they provide the oil filter for free...which no company or dealer here does. And although it's good to have the reciepts, log, etc, they have test strips or so that they use to see if the oil has been changed anyways. So it's not a big sweat if you didn't have the logs and all, they will test and know anyways. And if you did change the oil like your supposed to, then the test will be clean and they cannot argue it no matter how bad they wish.
