General Exclaim, UHP tires any good?

I am looking at these and thinking, I've never heard of this company-- and it's got the name general which to me sounds like generic haha.
Has anyone had these types of tires before? They are cheaper than many tires, and weigh quite a bit less, while having great treadlife. The reviews I read are almost all 50/50 on this type of tire...any input would be great.

I have them at the moment. They're decent for the price.

General is made by Continental.
I'm interested in the UHP's as well. Partly because they're readily available here in Canada at CTC. Most of the other eco-priced tires are rare to find here.
Plus they're a summer only performance tire. None of this 3-season nonsence.
I run steelies and winter specific boots when the seasons turn.

Depending on the size they can be a little noisy at highway speeds (I run 215/40/17 so it might just be because of the size). They handle decent and are good in the rain as well.

Like I said for the price you pay they are a decent tire.

they are significantly less in weight than most other tires, which is the major buying reason for me. still undetermined, cannot find any local retailers with toyo's either ;(

I have them in a 205/50/15 and love them. I have separate wheels and tires for autox but the grip is decent and for a year of hard driving they still have several months left. Great in the rain and they are fairly quiet. For the money you could buy something better all round but I got mine for close to $52/ea and would probably buy another set when these wear out - oh and they are directional if that matters to you...

General is a pretty common brand in tires and tirerack carries a ton of different models.
