New Product from Raptor Racing: Whiteline Adjustable Swaybars

Hello folks;

It’s been a while but we are finally done with the Whiteline adjustable swaybars that I mentioned in this thread: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...t=11152&page=2 . We ended up doing a rear adjustable bar for the Yaris and it’s ready to ship.

THEORY
Unlike fixed factory and aftermarket sway bars, adjustable sway bars are one of the few was to actually tune over/under steer on any car 'on the fly'. We know that increasing the strength of the rear bar will 'reduce' traction on the rear tires which will make the car over steer. We also know that increasing the strength of the front bar will 'reduce' traction on the front tires which will make the car under steer.

With that understood one could easily conclude that decreasing the strength of the rear bar reduces over steer and doing the same to the front reduces under steer.

Increasing the strength of both the front and rear bars will theoretically reduce traction on all 4 tires enabling the car to drift more easily (not something you want on a street car but figured it was worth mentioning).

Adjustable sway bars let you test and tune the best balance for your car, something that's just not possible with non-adjustables as you're stuck with what the company thought is best.

Had a similar setup on my friends car; we just wrapped the U-Bolt with duct tape (yes it can really be used for virtually anything). 2 years later 0 issues.

Going to be out of the country for 2 day so any questions will be answered when I get back.

Pretty cool, glad people are developing more parts for the car.

Questions:

1. The end of the sway bar looks very low and might scrape or hit things like speed bumps?
2. What is the diameter of the bar?
3. This is adjustable with two settings/holes, right? What percentage (%) increase is achieved by using the second hole, compared to the first hole?

1. While building the prototype exhaust for my Yaris we went through tons of mufflers...some which hung lower than the shock mount. NEVER had any scraping issues; even on speed bump I had no issues so I can NOT see this being a concern at all.
2. 22mm
3. Yes...2 setting. I will get in touch with the engineer at whiteline to get his answer.

to those of you concerned with the bolt rusting, swap it for a stainless one from your local hardware store.

what i love about the whiteline setup is that in some cases you can use it in addition to say, the TRD bar.

Just got the answer to your question:

Quote:
Hi George

In this instance, percentage difference from point to point is 20% in overall bar rate
Cheers.
