camry owner looking to buy a yaris.
Hey guys, i recently just got this 04 camry from my dad. he got a new charger.
ive done pretty much all i want (can afford) to do to it right now, and still am not satisfied. theres also a significant lack of aftermarket parts for camry's, which doesnt make sense because theyre one of the best selling autos... anyways, i want something with a lot of options. something thats cheap, and something i can mod to no end haha. i found this site because a murdered out yaris flew by me on the highway today, and i heard a super charger whine. i was like- damn. was that a GTI? wait... wtf? was that a yaris!?!?! haha needless to say im interested. should i go with the 2010 or the 2009 model? other advice is welcome. |

personally, Id get a 2008 if you can get one new still somewhere in a lot.
the body parts from '06-'07 will still fit. |

Camry is a best seller, yes, but not so much to enthusiasts
Anyway welcome! Yep, there's a good range of mods you can do to these lil cars... Can't compare to a Civic or Fit in terms of aftermarket support but getting there! Like Alex mentioned, there's now two versions of the cars in the US, pre (06-08) and post-facelift (09+). So while you might get a better deal (and more cosmetic parts) on the older cars, you'll probably find the newer ones have more optional equipment like ABS, power windows, etc. Anyway please do look around, make good use of the Search function too, there's a TON of info on this site
