Horn
I've had my 2010 Yaris 3 door for about 1,500 miles (about 2 months). Love the car the only thing that bothered me was the WAY underpowered horn...so last week I installed a Hadley Bulley horn kit along with the stock horn. Now people can actually hear me AND they get out of my way.

I bought the FIAMM "El Grande" set at the local auto parts store for $20. Since I had the bumper off to install the Micro Image grill, I relocated the horn(s) to a location above the grill where they can't be seen, and don't get wet. There is a hole in the radiator support that is used for one of the wiring harness clips, and I moved it out and put a nut and bolt through it to secure the 2 horns. Works like a charm, and the horn sounds much better.
I did not bother using the relay, since the Yaris has a horn relay already, albeit not as powerful as the aftermarket one, but I have had no problems, and you generally don't use your horn for long bursts unless you are an angry driver or love your horn. It's really hard to get to the horn without removing the bumper, although you CAN by coming up from the bottom and using an extension to get to the bolts through the grill. If I was going to do it again, I would remove the bumper anyway, as it is very easy, fast and provides access to the radiator support. |

I installed the Toyota "Premium" (dual tone) horn kit I got on e-Bay and a yaris "Y" wiring harness was included to make it P&P.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...Q5fAccessories I just removed the pins from the top of the bumper and bent it forward to give me adiquate room. The stock relay works fine. IMO, it doesn't matter what horns you upgade to, just get rid of the wimpy stock horn as I quickly found out it gets little respect on the road. |

Stand outside the car and have someone beep the horn. Mines really pretty good! Here in Philly sometimes people come out shooting when you beep at them so maybe cooling its a good idea!

BTW, just having someone standing outside your car to judge the volume of a horn is not valid.
