If you use too much heat wrap, you will actually cool the manifold, which seems to be the effect you want. Otherwise, increase the pipe thickness, increase surface area, increase turbulent air flow, or increase the conductivity with a new material.

oh wait, you mean too much heat is conducting to your manifold? in that case, any air gap/interface between the manifold and environment will be fine. And again, if you use too much heat wrap or insulation, you will have the opposite effect.
