I never got radar detectors. Do these tell you before an officer uses his radar on you -- or after? Can they tell if an officer is using his radar on someone else?

No, but it makes you be aware that there IS a radar in the vicinity, and even if they are not using it on you, they might be using it soon :)

Radar detectors are HYPER sensitive, most good ones will go off if you bring another detector nearby because they're listening for devices LISTENING on that frequency band, not so much direct transmitters anymore. So... yeah, they're still useful to avoid tickets. :-)

Valentine-1 has a seperate configuration that you can switch to for use in Europe, so it still works there. With the reliance on laser-based lidar-detectors versus radar-detectors though, investing in a lidar-jamming parking sensor system is more effective, albeit vastly more expensive as well.

two questions 1-so if i get a radar detector it will only tell me baout when a radar is near but not a cop? 2- if i wanted to know where cops were i would need a police scanner kind of what they use in the gumball races?

You shouldn't care if there is a cop. Only acop with Radar- laser.
