Gas gauge problem again
Lately when i fill up in the cold and mild weather the fuel gauge doesn't correct itself until i hit a bump or when it feels like it. Has anyone else had this problem? But when it does that does the computer know that the car is full or not? Hopefully the dealer ship can guess what wrong with it.

Fuel tanks have a float device in them thet measures fuel level; it sounds like yours is sticking. Kind of a bitch to get to as you usually have to drop the tank, but on the Yaris, I'm not sure. This would definetly be covered under warranty.

Nah, I have the same problem too.
Like when your bar is blinking rapidly, then I put $3 - $5 in it, turn on the car and its still rapidly blinking. 15 - 20 mins later, slowly blinks, then shows 2 bars. - RemieGino14 -

As a piece of advice, do NOT run your car while you are filling the gas tank. You are your car have the chance to become history.

i only leave it running when it very cold out side and funny enough it works fine. I bet now that i'll go to the dealership about this problem they won't find it, and say it normal. Also you can leave you car running when fueling. When i fuel airplanes with 200,000 liters and more the fuel truck is running, and jet fuel is way more explosive then automotive fuel. Just and fyi for those that didn't know about aircraft fueling.

All the car experts I have listened to have strongly recommended turning off the motor while fueling. Plus it saves a little gas. With the small size of the Yaris, it will reheat real quick.

In this situation I think it'd be more like the airplane's jets are still on while you're fueling it. It's kind alike saying the gas pump is on >_> |
