Help Required VVTI 1.0 W reg
Hello Yaris owners,
My dad owns a yaris 1.0 VVTI on a W reg. 131K on clock The car has a hole in the exhaust just after the last Lamba sensor, well kind of 4 holes. I have changed the sump on it last night and left the silicon to dry for over night+ new oil filter, plugs, new air filter + cleaned the maf. To change the sump, the exhaust had to be taken off and the flywheel cover plate had to be taken off + the out put lamba sensor disconnected. When i started the car the Hot engine light went on and then straight to cold after about 3 secs. This evening starting the car it felt slugish and the revs are all messed up. When i put the foot down on the floor it kind of gradually goes up till the top. When i took it for a drive it took me ages to accelerate from about 4 mph to 12 in first. Second gear was same as first. As when i put it in third the revs dropped and when i put the foot down it didn't even want to go but only kept at idling and i was loosing speed. If any one have had this problem or anything similar can you please let me know what i have to change. The car is on 131k and it never had a new clutch fitted. Thank you very much Last edited by diablo7772; 02-01-2012 at 04:14 PM. Reason: Added info |

Did you plug the maf back in? I know it's kinda obvious...

I guess you can unplug it and see if the car acts any different. Do you have anything to read OBD2 data?

Did you spray WD-40 on the maf wires?

Just took of the maf and had a go in the car it has helped the problem a lot but it has put it in limp mode so limited to 3.3k revs.
I will take it off and just dry it :) see if that helps unless the WD has damaged it. |

The oil was only sprayed on the sensor pin.

what is a sensor pin...the blobby looking thing on the side of the sensor? I presume your sensor look the same as on my 1.5...
