The two biggest reasons for me would be knowing I wasn't burning gas while sitting in traffic (not because of the environment...because it is a waste of money ) and the remote (or unusual location) all climate sleeping solution. If I wasn't sure to use it for the latter (a real time decision at that point....when my Yaris has many more miles on it), the former wouldn't be enough of a reason to get one. |

If you are blessed with a high percentage of driving on the highway, no, you really DO NOT want a hybrid on many levels. Economically speaking!

Bronsin , thanks , aware the C or other Prius would get better city . Had an '07 Prius 2 . There's a hybrid conversion kit for $2000 or so . Installed on the back wheels . That would be interesting combined with the sedan or the hatchbacks .

I get 50+ MPG city driving consistently, and if I'm "hwy" driving at speeds of 50-55 MPH, I can get 60 MPG.

60-65 is as slow as I would go on the highway and even then, there are safety and practical considerations as to why that might not be a good idea.
My 2001 ECHO would get 53 mpg at those speeds. Finally, you REALLY go 50-55 on the highway!?!

You could also drive in most aprts of Canada as the speed limit is usually 100km/hr.

Used priuses are very rare cause I think the original owner is still trying to break even. :) The cheapest prius around me right now is a 2005 with 130,000KM on it and they are asking 10K |
