New here...First Yaris.
Hey all,
I bought my first Yaris this week. I'm familiar with them though, having drove an 07 hatch for a few months on a courier route. When looking for a replacement for my 07 G5 I was told to get a Yaris for this line of work as their reliability is proven. I found a 2009 Sedan with the power package. CC, PW, PL, TS, keyless entry, and nice microfiber-ish seats. It's a 5 speed with 176k. I drive around 2,400 miles a week. I'm hoping to get this car as close to 500k on the stock engine and clutch. Both of which are still as strong as they should be. Thanks for letting me join! |

Welcome. You chose well with the Yaris.
You might well need the clutch replaced before you hit 500K but it will take it like a champ i'm sure. I'm glad I'm not driving 2500 miles a week anymore. I did it for 14 months. Not again. haha

I need to get into the habit of shifting at a little higher rpm. I often find myself short shifting and lugging the car around. Just used to the power/torque of my old car I guess. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Nice. Going on 8 years with my Yaris and not one problem, thus far. Good luck, 40mpg.

The rear engine mount. Specifically the through bolt into the subframe was a BITCH. Impact wouldn't shift it. A meter breaker bar with a cheater backwards and forwards and lots of homebrew penetrating fluid. I'm sure the engine bay is a little tighter with a 1.5 4 cylinder than a 1.0 3 cylinder so getting the gearbox in and out would probably be a little more troublesome. Depending on where you live, you might be one of those lucky people where the cars don't rust and hand tools will do everything. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
