Shitty stock tires!!!!

Hey I just want to know If anyone else has noticed how shitty the treadwear is on the Bridgestone RE92' s. I think It's like 160. 160!!!! You got high performance tires that last longer then this, I love my Yaris great little car but I can't help but feel cheated.

They are a bit flimsy but I get them (and oil changes) for free from the dealership I purchased it from for life so I'm not complaining. Ahh... incentives.

you shouldnt feel cheated. looking on the brighter side of things, you should be grateful that you get to upgrade to better tires SOONER! imagine having to deal with this grip and performance for 60,000 miles, let alone the poor wet traction and road noise! i cant name one person who has been satisfied with the oem tires on their cars. we also cant wait to change the tires on our sienna (bridgestone turanza el42's), and are thrilled that other owners are reporting bald tires at 20,000. what i dont understand is how brdigestone can ever expect anyone to buy these tires AGAIN...

How many people got the Bridgestones and how many got the Goodyears?

I have never had good luck with Goodyears but I am hoping to break that streak with the Yaris.

I personally don't like Bridgestone tires after seeing how crappy the performed with my tC before it got destroyed but after pushing the tires on my Yaris (bridgestone) I think that they're not as crappy as I thought.

I got the Bridgestones, and upgraded ASAP. Toyo Proxes 4 were put on just before the last snow of the season (just my luck), and actually had better grip in the snow than the Bridgestones.

UTQG is 140 ... stilll well below standard... these tires came off 3 weeks after I owned the car... check out my signature for some different sizing options then there are a plethoera of tires out there to choose from... I reccommend a UTQG of 400 or higher, but remember UTQG's are set by the tire company so a 400 from Yokohama will wear different than a Bridgestone

Mine came with the goodyear and didn't notice any major tread wear after 14k. They're off for now, got some 17" nitto neo gens on there. The goodyears I had did really good in the snow and gave a nice ride. They were the 15".

lower treadwear=lower mileage=lower cost....only high end and the lesser shady dealerships are going to want to swap out o.e.m tires...you could've negotiated with the dealership to get a new set or tires for life, but hey....

The stockers are junk in comparison to any decent tire, the difference is pretty drastic.

I lucked out with the Bridgestones... I put my new 17's and Falken's on at 320 miles... I don't know which Falken's I got, I haven't looked and didn't order them. They are OK, I have hammered the crap out of them twice and the first time, when they were BRAND NEW they were sketchy!!!! Now they stick and small children run for cover when I don't slow down for corners...

At least the Bridgestones stick pretty well... seriously, they're not "that bad". Ask the Civic SI Ricer I ran down with my stock Yaris Or the S2000 I ran down, going UP HILL with the 17's... or the Corvette that had to pull over to let me by... I have no fear in the twisties... I figure "Hell, at least I'm not on my motorcycle".

Anyhow, replace them when they wear out, you can get 195/50's for $43 each on the Tire Rack!!
