bitchin rods....and yes. prius pistons... open engine take out factory pistons and put in the prius pistons with prius bearings and its done over here they sell by 85 a piston and the bearings 125 the set.
tamago
in the prius engine the thing that gives the compression is the pistons not the cycle. the cycle is for energy efficiency only but the engine is the same so pistons will fit that easy with prius pistons installed you'll have a 10 to 15 bhp gain. not so much? well you add that with proper tuning, headers, pulleys all the goodies and you got yourself a pocket rocket. when we put pistons like this we use premium gasoline 92 octane and with tuning it's all good no back fires

since you mention tuning, you'd need a piggyback to run those pistons or can you get away with the stock ecu ?

Seriously? I guess I'm sorry for asking a question. This is a discussion forum...you apparently know the answer so why would i google it? Kind of takes away from the whole forum idea doesn't it. Dont really care to know the answer anymore, good luck to whoever tries any of this out.

guess how i learned about atkinson cycle engines... ;) think it was on a forum?

The engine has a high physical compression ratio of 13.0:1, but the inlet valve closing is retarded. The net result is that the engine has a greater effective expansion than compression – making it Atkinson cycle, rather than the conventional Otto cycle.
so, just because it has a physical compression ratio of 13:1 it does not mean that the pistons/rods are subjected to typical 13:1 compression forces. in fact, the prius only revs to 5000rpm, so you'd want to take into account these factors.

it's not a 'SLAP IN SOME PISTONS AND RODS FROM A PRIUS YO!' solution.

Dude, I think my VTEC just kicked in.

How much are Pauter rods? Don't give me that can't tell you crap either. Non-vendor pricing of course, Garm.

you're a dick, all you had to say was it didn't work. we don't need proof we just need someone with lots of posts to say it's a bad idea. why would we want to go to multiple reputable sources on the internet when we have a forum full of people who know everything?

you keep getting banned b/c you've never offered up any real helpful info and you don't even own a Yaris.

the xA engine bay <> the Yaris engine bay, who cares if you've proven that a well thought out turbo can fit in both with minor modifications.

before you start bad mouthing people you should really do some research, the toyota rods aren't terrible, not like you've ever broken one....
