DNGz is out of town this weekend. On the 26th I'll be at the UBC sports car club 50th anniversary. You are all invited to come and watch. It's an autocross event and our 50th anniversary celebration, but it's in Pitt Meadows.
DNGz is also going to attend the autocross event (I think).

If it's tommorrow, I'll try to make it by 3pm. I should be there unless wife says otherwise.

Just got back from meeting *mojoyaris and the mysterious Steve. Had an interesting exchange among Larry the autocrosser, Steve the 140 km/h wobbly-to-White Rock easy-going driver, and me the novice hypermiler. I took a few amateurish pictures with a point-and-shoot that I will post tomorrow.

Hope to see more of you guys on August 26th in Pitt Meadows. *mojoyaris will brief us on that.

UBC sports car club 50th Anniversary and Team Enduro event
August 26th. Pitt Meadows Airport.

http://www.ubcscc.com/index.shtml#events

directions to event.
http://bcdrivingcentre.com/map.php

When you turn right @ Ford Road, continue past the stop sign about 200 yards there will be a small dirt (access) road on the left which leads to the airport runway. Drive down the dirt road to the runway and you should be able to park your car there. I may be on the other strip on the other side of the grass field which you won't be able to drive to (the track may be in use)
but you can walk accross the field to a tent where I should be, or at my car.

Because it is a racing event you will have to sign a waiver and wear a wrist band to show that you are with me. I can show you around and give anyone rides to see how the Yaris performs on the track.

I'll fill you in as things get updated. We may actually have our "real" track ready for this event which will be much larger than the runway strip that we've been forced to use lately. I can update on the parking locations later.

BTW
It was great to meet you guys!
It's always nice to meet others. I've met DNGZ a great guy who's getting involved in the auto x sport.

I think there will be a few other Yaris guys there as well (they're not part of the yarisworld forum,,, yet.).

great shots! Wish I could say mine turned out, but they were too small and grainy from the phonecam.

For the 26th We just got one of the best BBQ chefs to come out and do the BBQ for us. I think there will be some additional tickets that they will sell for food.
There will also be some T shirts for sale (UBCSCC.com) t shirts for the 50th Anniversary.

Alberta's a bit far from Vancouver. Do you come to Vancouver often?
