what do you use for the sealant? do you just reuse the sealant thats already on there? that seems kinda risky

I typically re-use what's already there, followed by a bead of silicone for extra measure ;)

hair dyer should work, it's worked on most cars I've tried. if not you'll need a heat gun or the oven method. just take your time otherwise you can crack the lens. don't force it, if it's not wanting to come just hit it with a little more heat and it'll come apart

also I've seen several ones that people have done and in my opinion they don't look right. paint everything except the actual reflector area that the headlight shines off of. it looks like most folks are only painting the upper part behind the reflector.

not sure if that was directed at me, but no I do not. mine's an 08 so I haven't tried to source an RS bumper.

seriously, the headlight thing is no big deal. I find that if you put the assembly on the floor, lay a towel over it, and put the hot end of a hairdryer under the towel (keep the intake part of the hairdryer out so it can take in air) and let it sit for a few minutes that usually does the trick.

start on one corner, just pry with your fingers or a flathead screwdriver (put some electrical tape over the end of the screwdriver). gloves help since the part will be hot, once it starts coming apart just hit it with more heat and keep working it. typically takes 15-30 minutes per light but the Yaris may take less or more time.

think about it this way....if you really go crazy and break one (it's harder than you think) then it's only like $75 shipped for a brand new one. take it from someone who just came from working on a Beamer, that's dirt cheap. you don't even want to know what a new headlight housing for a BMW with xenons costs.

with just a modicum of patience you should have no trouble at all. the only thing you could possibly do wrong is to rush it and pull way too hard on the lens.

just put an order in for my off centered racing stripe! Should arrive in a few days and Ill have it done around the same time I get my windows tinted and my headlights finished which brings me to my next question. for those of you who have seen how they are tinted now, I taped one side off to show what I was originally going for heres a pic...

Left is how I think I wanted it done and right is how it is now

Id just like to get your guy's opinions before I do it I probably end up doing it anyway though :P

No they're just regular I just had them tinted on the outside. Again though the right one is how they're now and the left is taped off to the way I wanted done originally. The guys that did them said they didn't do it the way I asked them to cuase they thought it would look tacky but that they would fix it if I still didn't like them... Which I don't. Lol so Im just getting opinions to see if they were right, if it does look tacky. But now that I have it taped off I am reassured that it will look good.
