Heh! There's only one way to get experience - you have to experience it.
As others have said, at least it's only the car and your pride that got hurt.

it will be a hard lesson learned when the new insurance premium shows up.

Are you sure it's not totaled? Isn't $6,200 about 1/2 of what the car costs?

Bummer, I hope your baby gets fixed like new ASAP.
I'm 41 and sometimes I drive like a ricerboy too. But after seeing this, I'm going to think REAL hard about it. I'm sure it was a bit embarrassing on top of everything else.
Glad you are still in one piece.
Please keep us posted on the patient and on your ins./license outcome.

Decent tires, guys. Get some. I respect a stock looking car with serious rubber more than a riced out car with commuter tires.
No, it rained after it was towed... I would not have been doing that in the rain, that's for sure...

Yes, it's very embarrassing. I felt more disgusted with myself while it was happening, then any thing else. I thought a while before posting here, but I figure I get what I deserve, and you guys should know/be warned...

Props, because it takes some guts to 'fess up to doing something stupid on an internet forum because you could have just kept quiet and probably no one would have noticed.

Count your blessings that you didn't get yourself or anyone else killed, and that your Yaris isn't totaled. Be careful next time

Yeah - we all have our Inner Ricer. My favorite piece of road is the swoopy "S-and-a-half" ramp here. One lane, not a race place, jjust for fun with no-one else around.

There's no place for "sports driving" on public roads. Period. Take it to a track. Yeah, I did that kind of stupid stuff when I was young, too. I'm glad I didn't kill someone, or put someone in a nursing home. I hope none of you do, either.

I call it sports driving because that seems to be how tire makers differentiate their product line, say, between Yokohama Decibels and AD08s. But yeah I go to a track every now and then.

We've all been "there". Be glad you're in one piece and that you're not in the Brig awaiting trial.

Beating yourself up won't change a damn thing. I'd put it into perspective if I were you.

You find the occasional deal everyone once in awhile. I just wish I could get to them before they get snagged by someone else.

the cop was not at fault. not one bit. cops do this all the time to warn people to slow down. that he lost control due to some flashing lights was entirely driver error.
