**edit** yrsdrgn your specs are a little off i think, checked the link and it says 2.2 volt pre amp output.....
yea those specs say 1.7 volts and thats pretty low i think.........2 volts is about as low as i would want to go and you would think they could atleast do that for an exspensive deck.......i would love to see 5v outputs but that would definately up the price a little bit.......most people wont notice a difference, especially if there not doing the install and tune themselves.... but for the guys installing and setting up there amps, the difference between a 5 volt pre amp output and 2 volt output is definately noticable......

Yea I'm pretty sure it would make a difference to exprienced persons but unlike them I myself am not experienced at this so yea it wouldn't make a difference to me. All I'm doing right now is just that DIN and hopefully later on get all the stock speakers swapped for 6.5in pioneer ones or something

2v VS 5v is VERY noticable. I guess you would have to hear the difference to really appriciate it.

Yea I guess. But I don't really blast my music that much to the point where I'd gotta get some high powered speakers and electronic stuff.

does anyone have this installed on their yaris liftback yet? i was looking at best buy and circuit city's sites and it say it won't fit in the yaris, is that accurate? I'm hoping now, but I remember best buy's site saying the deck i have now wouldn't fit while the circuit city one said it would, so i'm skeptical about it. i hope it does cuz that would look hot in a yaris!

"The Pioneer AVIC-D3 in-dash navigation system comes with two DVD-ROMs containing a massive Tele Atlas database"
This quote is from Pioneer's website. Does this mean that you have to swap DVD's if you are listening to a MP3 CD if you want to get navigation directions? I know that other units have a built in hard drive, but this one, apparently, does not, and for that it would be a point of irritation if I had to keep two extra navigation dvd's in the car at all times. I am always losing things anyway.... |

The D3 has only 1 DVD drive. For those who still lives on CDs, you might have a problem with it since you would have to swap. While in Nav mode, let's say you entered a destination and the nav routed a route for you. To listen to CD while using the NAV, you would have to pop the map DVD out. Bad part of about it is that if you decide to take a detour or missed an exit, it won't auto-reroute. The 2 DVDs are 1 for the east and one for the west. If you want, you could go on ebay for a cheap scratched up 4G 20GB ipod and a interface cable. All together, I think that this setup would still save you more money than a unit with a HDD.

I been thinking of getting the Kenwood DNX7100 but I think I might look at the Elipse or Pioneer unit - (they are just so freaking expensive) maybe a car computer is the way to go..
