i guess with a manual you can pull to the end of 4th gear instead of 3rd gear. what does 4th gear top out at on the manual?

ive gotten 118mph numerous times in my 08 yaris hb coming home from NC i hit the goven a few times all its does is cut ur fuel for a few seconds so u slow down... if u stay at redline long enough it does it then to... ive personally done both.... as soon as i get my 15" back on ill use my gps again... see with 17" my speedo said 118.. my gps said 109... so when i get the konigs that i want ill try again

just for the record... i hit 118 in 4th gear...

I just hit about 117-118 mph (about 187km/h). Completely stock 2dr LB. Rolling on stock 15" steelies.

I didn't let off the gas, but at the limit, it felt like the gas pedal let off by itself, or something. I don't have a tach, so I'm not sure if it was fuel cut off, RPM limit, or speed governer???

This car's got a relatively "soft" rev limiter such that it doesn't bounce off the redline like most other cars do when you over-rev it.

Governor on us models clicks in at 118 the gearing on the car suggests 148 mph without it but that is not taking into account the drag on the car pushing 130 would be hard in this car.

with my new intake filter and mid-pipe i'm going to try this again. maybe i should wait until i have my lightweight summer wheels on though because right now i'm using winter tires... although, the cold air probably makes more power...
