most likely it is a UK and Canadian thing for cold weather packages. can anyone here prove me wrong with a US model that has cold weather and the insulation? Please do so we can rule this theory out.

1. seem like canadian rs has it... (any exceptions welcome)
2. sedan with cold weather package most likely has it... (any exceptions?) 3. liftback has the most varient... (most likely on ones with power package?) ps. so... sedan with cwp has it...? liftback with pp (ie 60/40 folding rear seat) has it...? |

The hood insulation has 2 functions:
1) noise shield (to keep engine noise from entering the cockpit 2) fire retardant - insulation will melt in the event of an engine bay fire thus acting as a blanket to smolder the flames The insulation seems to be installed on the sedans and RS models in Canada (I have not yet checked my own RS; however, I will confirm later today. |
