Yes, exactly. The new yaris is the mazda 2, if you glance you wouldn't know the difference.

It's the same as before but with a nicer interior.

I got the new '12 today and I have to admit, even though it looks like the other subcompacts out there, I am in total looove with the way it drives. I have an '07 that this car is replacing (the older model is being given to my car-less sister up north in Washington) and the newer '12 just is amazing with the way it handles. The steering is so smooth and gentle and I don't feel every bump on the freeway anymore.

If they were going to rid the center console they should of made it worth it like this

Toyota Verso

2012 yaris

2010 Aveo

2012 Aveo

to me the new yaris reminds me of an aveo I sat in once and instantly thought it was cheep and average looking.

The new Chevy Aveo/Sonic is a huge step in the right direction, but I still have doubts of it's long-term durability. GM's small cars tend to age rather poorly.

The interior design of the Sonic is more reffined than before, but still feels cheap and obsolescent.

Any chance you tried fitting the middle headrest into one of the side head rest positions? If it fits, it might not be so bad.....just have to buy two headrests.

Only downside is that it doesn't slide forward and fold flat like the second gens....right?
