The 2009, didn't take any underneath pics. Might go do that this evening.

The mileage took its toll on the 09. It also looks like the 07 was garage parked, that's why you would see more rust underneath.

Tough choice!

Yep, very tough choice, I like the look of the 07 but I think I'll pass on it due to the excessive rust. The high mileage on the 09 makes it a no go as well. I'll keep looking for the right one.

Basically, in 5 years, you can plan on the 07 rusting apart, and the 09 will probably need the engine or tranny replaced. Even though these engines are tough, 250k isn't a small amount of mileage.

LOL, If I still lived in Fort Saskatchewan...I would...lol

Thanks to all the posters that answered. I really appreciate the advice. My Wife really wants the 07. I showed her your responses and it has helped her to understand that you can't just judge a car based on the exterior look.

I've seen enough. Go for the Yaris S. better residual value and lower mileage.

I want something more refined. Looking at a BMW or if I can find one, an IS300 Manual

Considering the 2007 has lower mileage and the S package, consider it a no-brainer.
Although I see a lot of rust in some of those pictures. Likely not rust-proofed originally.
