How do you figure that? Rolling resistance is rubber compound, tread pattern, and contact patch.

I believe you can find articles about it online. As a ťyre rolls, the part in contact with the road flattens and the sidewall near that point deforms. As the wheel turns, the point of deformation moves around the sidewall causing significant rolling resistance. The taller the sidewall, the bigger the size of the deformation and hence the increased rolling resistance.

I can see this to work with low pro and narrow tire, keeping the tire contact patch same size with little deformity as possible.

I prefer a 16" over 15 for looks, generally better road feel, all in all better handling.

I use 15s for winter. 15s make the car feel quicker definately..I personally prefer 16s for better road feel.

Each to there own I guess, I find on a car with minimal power I stay with 15s for best over all performance but do agree larger wheels look sexy 😜

I ran 205/50/16's on my 2007 and now on my 2014. I can report go cart handling, no noticeable decrease in power compared to the 15's, and a very comfortable ride. But, gas mileage suffers a bit with 205mm rubber.

It's the main scientific reason that sports cars use low profile tyres. The cool look is an added bonus.

Why would you go with such a large tire I mean it will effect everything about your car, at least do 205 50 or 195 55 plus wider is not always better anyhow enjoy ur new wheels.

That's the same as I've got. Lightweight Konig rims with 205/55-15s. Comes out just very slightly bigger than the stock 185/60-15s.

205/55/15's actually work very well on the Yaris.

They are 4mm (2/10") taller than stock 185/60/15's on earlier models and 2mm (1/10") shorter than stock 175/65/15's on later models.

Pay attention to the tread pattern when choosing a tyre; to eliminate highway wander, avoid aggressive tread patterns and look for a wide, continuous centre band.

He said 175/65/15 is stock on later model years so you don't have an oddity.

I too would have opted for 195 series tires. I've had 195s, as well as wider and skinnier than that. 195 was my favourite size.

Unfortunately, there aren't too many choices in 205/55/15. Here are some options:

I had 195/55-15s on my Echo RS, which had 14" stock rims. With the Yaris RS I've moved up to 205s (Goodyear Eagles) to keep reasonably close to its larger stock wheel diameter.
