I saw my 08 today. real happy cause i thought it was gonna be black and it ended up being Meteorite Metallic. It's so nice. RS 2 door 5spd LB.but it has some different stuff than the 07. I will post pics soon. I can tell you it has sliding seats and an additional piece on the bumper that "looks" like a diffuser behind each wheel. maybe that stuff was on other models, I have not seen enough rs's

Went to the Toyota parts department in Garden Grove, CA and the dude behind the counter informed me that the '08LB Speedo Cluster would not fit in the '07 LB. Something about the wires but I stop listening after he said it wouldn't fit.

I find that to be BS but can someone who is doing/has done the swap confirm if the '08LB cluster fits/does not fit in the '07LB?

I think this guy is full of shit (cue the dancing poo)... we already confirmed a Canadian LB cluster w/a tach will work in a US LB not equipt with a tach from the factory.... how is this new US cluster going to be any different? It looks identical to the Canadian RS cluster just in SAE instead of metric..... Hell if I have to be the first one to do it I will... someone get me a part #, and I will go to the dealership and get one

Sticker Price

I can verify that the sticker price on the 2008 is about 250 more than 2007. At least here in my neck of the woods.

The only difference that I know of is the new low tire pressure warning guage.

Sure....rub salt in our wounds!
Toyota trying to protect the Scions. I'm going to settle for a Scion xD since the prospect of getting any options on a Yaris S are slim to none (can't even configure ABS). Kicking myself for not buying the dealer used 5-door RS over the border last October when exchange was still in our favor.

You should at least try to special order one. I'm pretty much in the same boat. I really wanted the S but I don't think I would buy a new car in 2008 without side airbags and ABS.

I just don't understand Toyota. They expect a demand of people to pay $1200 more for a lip kit and tachometer but not expect those same people to want any common safety features...

I was actually told by the internet manager that there's no such thing as a factory order anymore, just a preference order. So you basically just have to take what they're building.

Nope, Canada gets the 5-door, the RS, had the echo hatch, etc. U.S. only gets the least optioned Yarii on the planet.

Nice, I ordered just about the same thing w/ side & curtain airbags.

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I placed my order though, and the dealer still hasn't received the confirmation/ok form Toyota. I'm getting a bit nervous.

How long until you heard back and got the workorder/build sheet? How long is your wait supposed to be?

Will the side skirts from the '08 S Liftback fit in the '07 Liftback? Anyone know where I can get them in meteorite metallic?
