If I had the money and wanted to spend that much money on a car (why?) I wouldnt buy one of them because of the styling.

I would tell the salesman Im not buying one of your cars because of the way they look.
I agree with you re the interior and exterior of any current Mercedes (terrible), and the exterior of of some BMWs, but not any current BMW interior, with the 1 series through the 5 series being the best.

Have you driven your girlfriend's 3-door? If so, do you notice a difference in stability in an environment with a lot of cross wind between your girlfriend's car and your car? The only negative re driving my car is that it sometimes feels as if a crosswind is 'tossing' it a bit. I experienced this on I-75 yesterday and my first thought was 'I wonder if some of the people on Yarisworld with SEs experience this'?

Yes, I've driven her 2010 a lot and it does get really nervous on the highway, even when it was new. She now has +70k miles. My co-worker has a 2008 sedan and says the same thing.

As for my car, it handles crosswinds MUCH better than hers(even when hers was new) and is more of a solid drive on the highway.

My 2012 LE is solid and stable on the highway. Almost as stable as the Outback.

I'm loving it although if I sell the Outback before winter I'll miss the AWD.

How are is the new Yaris with TC in the snow?

Thank you so much for your answer. It has likely changed the trajectory of which Yaris I pick to eventually replace my current Yaris and could only be answered by someone familiar with both the SE and the 3-door. Having a 5-speed manual is most important to me. After that, increased stability is more important to me than avoiding power windows. If the SE still has the 5-speed available when I replace my car, I'll probably get the SE. If the 5-speed is no longer available on the SE but is still available on the 3-door L, but the L then has power windows it will be a hard choice between the Prius C and the L. If the SE no longer has the 5-speed available, but the 3-door L does and the L still has hand crank windows I'll probably pick the 3-door L with hand crank windows.

Deathbeard - These rears look stunning, just wish Toyota in the UK would make the Yaris' like that.

A decent dealer might be able to supply the parts................
Some time ago my dealer was able to order parts for
my LandCruiser in Australia.

I strongly prefer the more mature appearance of my 2012 and I had 2007 which I really liked. I got four complements on the looks my car today within a 2 hour period. It is the new look of high MPG Toyotas and the more I see it the more I like it.

My 1st Toyota was a 98 Starlet, the Echo/1st gen Yaris that followed that was ok, I liked the 2nd gen Yaris better, and I'm loving my 3rd gen. In some ways (especially the interior) the 3rd gen is a bit of a throw back to the Starlet. Having said that, I've enjoyed checking out all the older Yaris cars on this site.

I think most cars are derivatives of other stylings, I can see people's references to the Nissan Tiida/Versa/Almira on the 3rd gen, but I'm happy with it overall. To me the rear of the new Corolla/Altis is a combination of the rear quarters of the old i30 and the taillights of the new i30, but again I quite like it.

Personally, I think the new style and chrome accents give the new Yaris a more upmarket feel.

Oooh... I want those circle taillights.

Hey Garm, can you get exactly that round style? If you can, I'll come down and buy a set on the spot!

Although i prefer the Vitz Rs 2006 - 2011 version from all the 3 versions, the 3d Ver Rs is sexy

does anyone have any idea if a DC header THC-4407 would fit in a 2012 yaris se? i know it fits the old models like 07-09, but will it do for the 2012 since it has the same/similar engine parts?

It should fit just fine...
I was among the first to install a '07-'11 listed Weapon R header on my 2012 and it fit like a glove. Nobody had it listed for '12 so I took a chance and became the lab rat for the experiment...

To me, the new Yaris looks better than mine times infinity. A real dashboard, not this cheap looking rubbermaid atrocity. Much sharper looking on the outside, none of this cutesy jellybean nonsense.
