Who said Yaris was slow?

You were running higher than 50hp shot for sure...
If you did a 75hp shot you got balls! props for that! I'm helping a friend installing a NX wet kit on his Yaris on the next couple of weeks. But we will use 35hp nozzles for the street and 50hp nozzles for the track only... we will use some high octane fuel on the 50hp runs... just for extra safety... |

I've got 17.54 @ 78.37mph in a bone stock '09 Yaris HB with the 5 speed. It'll be next week before I get the slip to a scanner though. No weight reductions, no mods whatsoever, not even a tach. The 60 foot times were off as I was running the stock rubbers... I'm gonna pick up some slick on wide steelies, and figure out a tach/shift light combo before I head back. Oh and, I don't fall under the "unseasoned" drivers group either.

real deal 1/4 mile @ fontana.
http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/ You know all my engine mods, but I will be trying some drag slicks I got from Art IF they fit over my brakes. I'll get them out and measure them up tomorrow. Probably need spacers. My suspension is: Silk Road coilovers TRD motor mounts BeatRush trans mount UR rear underbrace Tanabe front strut brace UR 23mm rear sway bar (like that will matter, LOL)

You need to make them fit..!!! If not get others that fit... or get rid of the front BBK. Like you will need that on the track! Taking your car w/o a proper set torsion tires will be like not going at all. Is a most!! Is important to dial the right pressure for the drag slicks. I'm sure Art can give you a few pointers as he has experience with the box. Front: just high enough not to rub the tires. Stiffness Probably some where in the middle. Front suspension should allow for some travel but have good dampening to prevent bounce. Rear: as high as the silkroads allow and full stiff. Over inflated rear tires... Leave the rear under braces and sway bar at home!! Go to the local strip to practice some launches! Oh and please.... HD video!!!! |

Hey guys don't forget to put down on the "list" what type of tranny at least, and if it was n/a or boosted.

Awesome! I can't wait to go back to the track again to see how I do since the new mods. Can't wait to get boosted though somehow.

Slowy getting there

Make sure you turn up the dampening on you rear shocks all the way and put your rear tires at max PSI to try and keep weight transfer to a minimum. Have you been working on your launches?

17.4sec 1/4 Mile. Thought a S/C Yaris would be quicker then that. Haha. Hopefully you do better next time you go with less wheel hop.

Hey Mike, did you lower your front tires' psi? I forgot to do that too, and I had a lot of wheel hop too. I need to repost my slips one of these days...but I have to find them first.
