Thats how the Skunk2 shift knobs go in the Hondas. Since the Skunk2 was metal, and theres no extra play, like the stock shifter has, the extra nut would tighten the shifter where you kept it. Hope that made sense.
Thanks man you beat me to that yep there has to be a nut to lock the position...

If you're gonna do a limited angle production, I'll buy one of those too.

got my extension on and i love it! one issue i encountered was the shift knob i had wouldnt work with it. the extension is too large to fit up into the hole on the bottom of the shift knob.

the knob that will NOT work (disregard the short shifter):

Mine works great. I love the more natural position but now my 40 dollar shift boot won't fit and my shift throw is a mile long once again.

^ are you using a short shift kit of any kind?

Mine fit up into my TWM shifter fine. For future reference, how much thinner should the top be to accomodate your shifters?

My shift boot doesn't look great now either, I have some ideas to fix that.

if you made the threads on the shift knob side a little longer, maybe 1/2'' more would be perfect.

The extension is awesome. It's just that my shift boot isn't tall enough I am using one of the SSK's that go onto the linkage but now I have to save up for the stage 2 SSk to reduce the throw back again.

Next time I order these, the shop says they'll make a few narrow ones for you automatic guys. 2" or 3" preferred?
