for me in ontario (if not all of canada) the RS is only on the 5dr. and insurance on a brand new car is bad enough, on a 3dr insurance goes up (especially for 18y/o)

Glad I live in Tx where we don't have a different rate for a 3 dr and 4 dr Yaris. We do have different rates for sports cars though. For example, a Mustang's rate is a lot higher than the Yaris.

wow, thats not bad. yeah man, here in ontario yor rate will go up depending on ure sex, colour of car, type of car, amount of doors, amount of seats, engine size (4l, V6, V8, V12) your postal code (if lots of claims happen in ure area), past driving record (and my insurance company tried to screw me over big time cuz of my fathers driving record) if ure car is classified as a sport or coupe or limited edition...its really bad here. thought it was like this all over north america.....

i asked...colour doesnt matter

vehicle type and # of doors does.

my xrs was a wagon, not a hatch = win win....but they new it was an xrs so it was higher

i don't pay anymore for my red 3dr than i would a black 3dr (even though red cars are faster)

lmao, if u ask they will give u a straight forward calculation on how they get ure rate, but in reality it is a personal choice of the operator/insurance company. they say red isn't more expensive but call an insurance company asking quotes on w.e car in red, then in a day or so call again and ask about blue.... thats what i did when i was looking at getting a 1990 celica. red and black they wanted more for, the white one was a bit better. (also for my age a red car in my hands i guess would go faster then a white one...) dont get me wrong, they have reasons for all the price fluctuations but it is simply way too much. govenrment needs to step in and stop insurance prices and gas prices.

ummm.....wrong.

I'm not going into battle with you as it certainly isn't worth it. Take it from someone who just exited that industry after 19 years (and no, I didn't sell it so I'm innocent).

LOL, ....and the gloves are now off bud ;)

My last comments on insurance. Yes, it does suck to be a teenager driving these days. I don't know how they/families can afford it. However, the reality is that insurance companies lose money on auto insurance. The average company will lose between 5 to 10 cents on every dollar they collect from you. This is called an underwriting loss. Where the industry trys to make a profit, is from wisely investing those premium dollars for the short period of time that they have it, before it ultimately gets paid out to someone in a claim.

The real problem with the insurance industry, legal and health systems.

lmao, its true, and in canada (brampton....) lots of people jsut looking for a claim, they think they are getting free money and screwing the insurance company...... they are screwing the honest ones. this is how society works..... the ones in the"wrong" win when the ones following the rules hold up society and allow the slacks to stay and live the way they are..... different arguement for a different time i guess.....

In Alaska, the sport only comes in the four door hatch as well. Sad times.
