if they lost money on the deal, THE DEALER will find out. That's why your " salesman friend" surely would have not taken the chance to get himself in trouble...... Yes - THEY DID MAKE $$$$ on your Yaris ( on mine, too by the way )

Yes they did make money of the Yaris, he got his commission, they get these cars dirt cheap, along with the corolla. I could not have pulled this off if i wanted a tundra, tacoma, camry, etc... My friend would have not put his job on the line for a couple of hundred dollars, having him there help with the pre haggle BS, but beleive me getting a good deal is not as easy as just having a buddy for a car salemen, you still need to be smart about the situation. The fact is if given the gift of gab use it, most of us could have taken a few dollars off all our payments if we stuck with it. Remember it is okay to say no to a deal, unless that is the payment you are most comfortable with, I could have easily jumped on a $200 dollar payment and i knew as long as i stay near msrp i know they are still making a profit. One thing i did do for them was i bought lunch for 5 salesmen, a couple of costco pizzas I guess you can add another $40 to my down payment.

PS...remember the last day of any month is the best day to buy! It is all about numbers and if they meet sales goals toyota gives them bonuses this equals good deals for us.

Yea well I tried. I should've just gave it away the last time when I was about to purchase a base model tC, w/ trade-in of $3500. Miles added up more on the car and the best I could pull out of the snobby manager was 2500 :(.

At least I am enjoying the Yaris more than the Mirage..except my start offs are a little jerky/choking and from changing 2-3rd gear......<---only problem Im having.

If I pay the minimum every month, I would end up paying 27,999.36. They are charging me 12.14 APR. I think I'll use my mom's credit to refinance.

how much are you guys paying?

should I use my mom's credit to refinance? she has a credit score of 697

wow. that's a lot. I have a lower credit score than yours and almost no credit history but the dealer was only going to give me a 9% APR. If someone co-signed with me, I could get it for 8%. But since I got my Yaris as a gift for my Aunt, she decided to just pay it off in cash instead of having to deal with the interest. My Yaris would have end up at $21,000.

What was your experience with the xA? I was considering one before the Yari, but they had no sticks on the lot to drive.

Btw, my deal was 60 months@5.5% $300/month

i put 500 down and got it for 300/month. i did shell out an additional 70 for the warranty, which is certainly worth the money.
the comment from the dip that says to buy a cheaper car if you can't finance it for less/ payments @ 48-60/mo is asinine.
you bought a reliable car for the money you could afford to spend. refinancing is always an option in the future but you are paying a good price without doing what everyone else did and put a few grand down.

$120/month for 60 months $11,000 cash down payment, 680 credit score. plus i knew the general manager of the dealership so he cut me a damn good deal. 200 over the the regular cost to the dealer, cheap as helllll.

I really didn't like the way the xA handled. It felt bulky to me. The mileage was so-so, and the interior was personally the only good points in it. The seats were a lot more comfortable, it had a tachometer, exc stereo system, and the storage compartment underneath the ac/heat gauges was illuminated and useful. However, I had an automatic, and the shifter was INCREDIBLY long and very in the way.

The body of the car was high, especially in comparison to the location of the wheels (the wheels look like cheerios on a semi truck!)

I hated the way the exterior looked. I think Scions are ugly in general. Sorry, just my honest opinion.

I'm SO glad the Yaris came out when it did.
