Yep, if Toyota sold the Ractis in the U.S. under that name, it'd be widely known as the "Racist."

Other than a refreshed front end, the Sentra looks exactly like the "Tiida" above. Same pillars, same door lines, same mirrors, everything. I'm not doubting it says "Tiida," but it looks like a Sentra with a refreshed nose. It's also a rendering, so it's not a real photo.
The reports I've read (http://www.autoincar.com/next-genera...upsizing-body/) says the next gen Tiida will have an "upsized body." Perhaps they're bringing the Sentra to Asia and calling it the next-gen Tiida?

by 2012-13, the iQ will replace the Yaris as the small car of America. Toyota will not care as much for the Yaris anymore(as in how it looks, better stuff, etc)

I doubt it. It all depends on if Americans actually will buy the iQ. I don't see the iQ being a super-high-volume car, frankly. It's going to be too small for some people, especially since it won't comfortably seat four people.

Agreed. After having owned a few VAG cars...the reliability sucks and parts/repair are expensive. Toyota's are reliable and basically bulletproof. My take on the iQ is that you'll see some around (like SMART cars) but that's about as far as it goes.

lol @ 2011 yaris fail geez they really made it ugly......
u know car companies should do. Get a public poll up with a possible upcoming design and let the public decide whats hot and whats not. They shouldnt just stick their opinions in their own company or do they? After were the ones buying the cars Blah whatever......2011 yaris is ugly full stop

I'm going to reserve any judgement on a 2011 Yaris until I see a real photo of one.

I really like the illustration on page one. Better than the '07-'09's IMO.

I agree!! I found lots of pics here.
As a former 2-time MINI owner (and now proud Yaris owner...hey, the Yaris is a better Mini, imo!!!) I can tell you the 10 foot length of the iQ will send shivers up and down the spines of classic Mini aficianados. 10 feet was the magic number...the length of the classic Mini. Add 9 airbags...yeah, this car should get some serious attention, especially since it still boasts a bit of a rear seat!!! With such clever packaging and space-saving innovation, I predict that in the end the mantle of the iconic Mini will not (ironically) fall to MINI, but to another car-maker.....maybe even Toyota (although BMW is planning a line of city cars, too)!!! The future of small cars looks to be very exciting indeed!!! Alas, this seems the fate of every small car made. Time will tell. |
