Which is best to lift Yaris??

Hey there everyone,

This is my first post on this great forum, so please bear with me, I have a 2008 Yaris (Gulf).

I live in Yemen where roads are not very well done, broken and the bumps are huge which may cause the bottom of my yaris to scrape if I am carrying four people in my car...

I've heard of lift up kits, but unfortunately they do not provide them here in Yemen, however what we have are are I think are spacers but they come in either aluminum or rubber I have attached two pictures showing them...

My tire size is 185/65/15 as seen below..

My question is which would be better the aluminum or the rubber? Because I am getting biased opinions from mechanics..

On a side note someone advised me to get the rear coils of the corolla 2007 and place them on my yaris which will give it a lift up what do you guys think?

rubber would be quieter...however may eventually split and break up. Aluminum would be the way to go or just a taller rear spring. Up front just make a spacer that goes on top of the strut. Many Subaru kits are like that simple strut spacers. Anything crazy you will need to start re-engineering geometry angles

I placed the rubber ones yesterday, because I figured it was a safer choice..

They are 4mm tall and were placed above the rear coils...

However I no problem with scraping the front of my car on the bumps so I just left them...

Is it necessary to place spacers on the from struts if I lifted the rear??

Really no as 4mm is nothing significant.

We will be working on buddy's Yaris right after we installed the new set of tires and forged wheels plus brake job on his truck project. He wants to lift the Yaris. We'll take a look at the Subaru kits.

Maybe you could install a set of air bag in the coils to keep them from sagging down too much under load, like the Firestone Coil-Rite kit #4136 https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Sus...one/F4136.html

I'm about to do this on my Yaris since I plan to drive a 5 000km trip with bikes and a lot of cargo and don't want to have the headlights shooting too high and the car sagging for 5-7 days in a row.
