OK. I looked up your VIN / Model code (SCP90L). It looks like none of the European Yaris even have cruise as an option.

I just verified with one of our members that works at a dealership in Europe, that cruise is not an OEM option on European Yaris. To add it a ~$500 aftermarket system is required.

I don't think so. It looks like the ECM is just not even programmed to support it.

Damn that sucks dude. I'm sorry that it's not able to be done with your car. What if you get an ECM from a yaris like ours? Or will that even work...CTScott?

Not with his transmission. Also, even a used ECM would be more expensive then the aftermarket cruise kit.

is it possible to order the side cover piece from the factory with the hole already there? I am sloppy with a drill and dremmell and don't want a hack job.

Cover, Steering Wheel Boss, Lower: 45184-52130-B0

This is for one that has the hole for factory cruise control.

That's how I do it right (I don't think I'm that dumb, but just to make sure) I guess it's not gunna happen the easy way as usual :)

I received the parts this week for lighting your LED, without changing your switch. I will be using a PIC12HV615 microcontroller to sense the switch press (and differentiate between the on/off and one of the other ones being pressed) and to drive the LED. The entire circuit will only require the 8 pin microcontroller, a transistor, and a few resistors (totaling maybe $5 in parts).

I will hopefully have some time this weekend to experiment. PM me your mailing address, and when I have it all figured out, I'll mail you the "module" (at no charge, since you've been the guinea pig for this).

Damn man that's awesome...PM sent.
Thanks so much for all the help with this project. It's not so bad being the guinea pig on something when you have so much knowledgable help on the subject. Hopefully we can get this thing hooked up and write up a nice DIY for the other "cruise control-wire-missing" drivers here :)

Alright, so just to sum it up for the stalk usage: I remove the airbag, install the stalk like in that Matrix link, then run a wire from the D connector to a ground point, and then the other wire straight to pin #40 in the ECM?

Do I mess with A21, or do I just do what I wrote in the above paragraph? (and this is all just if I don't bother with the clutch switch just yet)

Correct.

Remember that in order to even test it, you will need to bypass the clutch switch at the under hood fuse panel connector.

^ right, you said to jumper it to the white wire 2 pins over? What do you mean by jumper?

Basically, make the connection. Since it is temporary, until you get the switch, I would just shove a stiff piece of wire from the blue to the white.

nickhjort, did you find any connector for the wiring to the clutch switch? Been searching for it for a few hours and haven't found anything. I believe that only the 09+ mt Yarii have that plug just hanging there...

Also, what is the function of the white wire you jumped the blue clutch switch wire to? Did you just do like what CTScott said and stuffed one wire into both pins?

Yeah basically I just used a thick guage wire I had laying around, that just happened to have a fuse on it, and just stuck it in there. You probably don't need the fuse, but what the hell...you can never have too many fuses right :) And no I didn't find the clutch switch connector under there either. I am still going to buy the stock switch though and just wire it to where I have the jumper in the fuse box. Basically what the switch does is acts as the jumper wire...only it's a reversed switch. So when you hit the clutch it kills the circuit (just like if you were to pull the jumper wire while using cruise control) Here's some pics of my jumper. Also make sre you put some spade connectors on the ends of your wire. They fit in there perfectly, nice and tight to ensure it doesn't come loose.

Hope it helps

PS... Make sure whatever you use as a jumper will fit under there whenever you put the fuse box cover back on :) Mine just barely fits.
