Sqweek while shifting (MANUAL)

Anyone have this problem? my transmission or linkage seems to make a sqweek when shifting from 3 to 4th. I thought it was suspension at first.
Drive your Yaris with the windows down and see it if sqweeks from 3rd to 4th shift. Im going to the dealer to check it out will keep you posted.

I'm also having the same problems. If happens when I move the shifter. Even with the car off and my foot off the clutch, I still get the squeaking when I giggle the shifter (specifically toward 1st and 2nd gear...there's another linkage that seems to come into play when shifting toward 4th/5th that probably doesn't need greasing).

I took the the rubber boot off (comes of easily, just un-screw the shift nob and pull it out). There's some piston like linkage in their that seems to need some grease. Haven't greased it up yet, but will give it a try this weekend and have an update.

Found the solution: get some chain and cable lube, and spray the linkages from under the hood. Have someone shift for you (engine off, clutch depressed) while you look in the engine bay to see the linkage points. No more sweeks!

Squeak When Shifting

This only occurs when shifting from 1-2, downshifting from 3-2, and 2-1. Is there an "easy access" area that I can place some grease to stop this annoying squeak? I'm not too sure where it is coming from but I can hear it when the window is down or up.

Any suggestions?

I had that problem a while ago. My car was under warranty at the time, so I just brought it in. They greased it a few times, but it would only come back a week or so later. About my 5th trip to the 'ship, they replaced some part (which took 2 1/2 months for it to "come in") and greased it, but it hasn't squeaked since... if you want, I'll check the invoice to see what it is that they replaced.

I put Brake Disk grease on all of the joints under the hood, and after 10 mins of driving, nothing sqeaked for almost 2 months *(knock on wood)*.

that's the clutch bearing; it needs to be replaced.

well, i looked at my invoice and they replaced the lever assembly, part number 33530-52110, as well as greased it all up. it hasn't squeaked since (almost a year). then again, that dealership hasn't always been honest with me in the past...
