Of Mufflers and Catbacks . . .
I've been toying with the idea of doing an exhaust upgrade on the cheap <$300. I would really like a nice, business-like sound without making me miserable at 70 mph or attracting attention from other drivers. I have looked around and seen that Tanabe and TRD claim a few of their units don't exceed 93db.
1) Is the 93db on the street or in the car? 2) On the street exactly what would 93db be comparable to? 3) Any other suggestions in a catback or muffler? Thanks. |

Amazingly, what few times I've heard my stock exhaust it has sounded "business-like" and mechanical. I'll have to keep my ears open in passing traffic.

ZPI exhaust is a little loud, but not on the interstate at 75-80 MPH, thankfully. You want a mild performance sound, go for the TRD. I think, but am not sure, the Tanabe Medallian is a little louder than the TRD.
