195/60-15?

Needing to replace my tires and the stock size for the Yaris is rediculously expsenive. The 195 size is wayyyy cheaper in price but I don't know if it would be a good replacement size or not. I'm running Tokicos and Tein stech springs.

Any suggestions on what would be a good replacement for stock rim size and my suspension setup?

I believe 195/60/15's actually fit much better than OEM 185's on stock suspension.

How about for my lowered setup? Is it still ok to run them?

I like the wide selection of long lasting high mileage 195/60 15 tires, and also like that they are almost exactly the same diameter as the stock 175/65 15's they replaced so that the speedometer and odometer stay accurate for valid gas mileage readings.

Thanks for the replies so far, I'm still trying to figure out if a 195/60/15 will be ok on a lowered setup though?

If you are not changing wheels measure about 10 mm out from the sidewall and see if that point still clears you fenders.

What are the prices like on a 195x55x15. I suspect 60 may rub with Teins.

It all depends on what you are truly asking, but you should be fine. I have just taken a bunch of photos for you with my stock 15" steelies and my Winterforce 195/60s. I am running 2" drop front and 2.25" on the rears with my AMRs. I just drove over to an autocross event and there was a couple places where I kid you not they had torn out 2-3' sections of the road for repair of something and the patch area where they had worked was about 3-5" deep! I didn't rub. I can't really give you a full turn radius opinion because my 18s totally shredded my plastic panels, but when I did have them in place I never recalled rubbing on full radius turns nor on the roadways with even serious dips/pothole hazards.

Remember too that winter tires tend to protrude more a the edges, etc than summer or all seasons. I hope that this helps at least a little even though I am running different springs.

Do you have the 195s on your car and if so are you getting better MPG than with the OEM 185 size? (I need to replace my tires in the near future)

That black 'band aid' on the dent is too funny!

You should have no rubbing issues. i have Tein S lowering springs that dropped my yaris 2inches all around. when i did drop my yaris i had the 18in TRD rims and they had 215/35-18 tires on them. they were rubbing alot but thats cause the overall diamater is about 3/4inch bigger. they mainly rubbed on the fender liner. i took them off and put the stock steelies and tires on and no rubbing at all. i would drive my yaris hard and it would bottom out at all. the only thing i had to be careful of was speed bumps lol. I currently have the 18inch wheels back on after i had new tires installed. I had to cut most of the liner put and rolled the front fenders myself. they still rub on the remaining liner so i am going to end up removing the liner completely. so yeah dont worry.

It is the JDM thing to do, plus it protects where there is bare metal at least a little. I still can't figure out how the hit n run managed the weird type of damage that occurred. My door doesn't have a dent for damage yet the doorjam on the body does...it is like the thin sheet metal of the door must have flexed.

I never liked the 195/60's on the yaris. The car sits 1/2" higher.

You should be fine. I am on Tanabe DF210s which is about a two inch drop. I have been currently running 195-60-15 tires. There has been no rubbing for as long as I have had them (5 months.) Good luck in your tire search.
