serpentine belt for 2007 yaris hatchback

hi, just a question. i had my serpentine belt replaced at firestone and about two days later there was a loud screeching noise when i would start the car and also when i would accelerate. i took it back and the mechanic said the belt was loose and he said he would tighten the belt. that worked for about a week and now the noise is faint but still there when i accelerate sometimes. any suggestions or advice? thanks

could be still loose or too tight. to check yourself Simply press the belt with your finger,
halfway across the suspended area. If a belt can be depressed more than ½ inch its too loose

get OEM belts and take it to another mechanic.. ive always had issues buying belst from aftermarket part stores dayco, driverite, etc.. they all seem to stretch after a week so if i do a belt job on someones car i tell them, i only install OEM belts.. u will be retightening aftermarket belts for weeks.. i personally have never had a problem with oem belts. just my 2 pennies

make sure both bolts that attach the alternator are tight....thats how you tension the serpentine belt...

if the tension is correct, once the belt streches it should be fine...
