My Yaris don't lock the steering wheel

After few time i lock my steering wheel, but is very hard to lock this. When i lock the steering i need to turn a half the steering wheel. that is normal?

My Yaris is 2014

That is normal for the Yaris. The whole idea of locking is really just to prevent someone from being able to steal the car.

That is my preoccupation. In Puerto Rico, Toyota Yaris is the number 1 theft car. As I have understood the yaris don't come with engine immobilizer. Do you know any DIY engine immobilizer for this car?

You can easily add your own by adding a hidden switch connected in line with the black wires on the ignition switch.

Say what?!
Even my cheap Yaris has this feature (because it's mandatory in Europe iirc), and I can not believe that they omit this as a lot of its parts are contained in the ECU and there are not many external components.
Tomorrow I'll try to find out how to tell whether there is an immobilizer or not without taking your car apart.

Just look at the ignition switch. If it is all metal there is no immobilizer. If the center part that rotates is metal and the outer part is black plastic, it has an immobilizer. For US Yaris it was not standard until 2009.
