Paying extra every week to taxes is essentially giving the government an interest free loan for a year.

Yes. Yes it would. But I would more than likely spend it if I had access to it. So to stop me from spending it I send it to the government and get it back in a lump sum when I do my taxes.

On the 17th December 2013 I reached my goal of doing the 52 week money challenge. I can tell you it feels good to accomplish something, especially since it took a year to do. Now that it's 2014, I urge all of you that can, to jump on board and start at week 1.

So in total including interest I saved $1,392.57 in the 52 weeks. So interest was $19.52
