Extend antenna for Remote Reciever Module?

*Extend antenna...

So it is possible?

Does it matter? It's this or the remote key fob. What is the metal and is it as a simple as just finding a longer wire?

Thanks.

No. It is an antenna tuned for the frequency. Extending it will not extend the range.

That's what I figured. Thanks Scott.

So the other way is to tune the remote?
I was thinking of these examples:

** I haven't had the chance to open up one yet to see the innards.

And while I have your attention sir... will any switch blade remote that works for a Toyota work for my car? Mine does not have a chip, it is a straight metal.

Like these.
For Tacoma
Just Toyotas
Square-ish remote separate from key

Any reason why I shouldn't go with any of them?
