Advice on engine light/exhaust problems PLS...

I got my exhaust system put on the other day which consists of a 2" Mild steel system with a free flowing sports cat/muffler to replace the stock system. I decided to take it for a Sunday drive 3 days after the install when the engine light poped up.

Took the car to the delear the next day were they checked it up and came up with some 404 error. This error relates to the exhaust system. All the delear could do was reset the engine light and hope for it not to come on again. Two minutes onto the freeway the engine light poped up again.

Please could you give me some advice on how to handle this problem as I an currently driving around with the engine light on? Has anyone got/had this problem in the past?

If it replaces the cat too did the shop that put it on remember to re-install all o2 sensors properly? Or maybe they damaged one?

you may have to pick up a spark plug de-fouler for that o2 sensor..

P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance

Not sure how your new exhaust could have affected the EGR.

That's definately odd... nothing from the cat back should affect your EGR in any way.

This is why no company will mess with the midpipe.

because those are only used if you ditch the cat. "or if you use them for their prescribed purpose"

Remember we have a pre cat and 2 regular cats, so by removing them and replacing them with a high flow cat, may throw a code from the downstream O2... I am planning to do something similar to my car on my next day off. I am going 2inch off my header, running a high flow cat and muffler, with a nice chrome tip :)

I've never had the downstream O2 trip on ANY car I've ever put a highflow cat on, even highflows do the job well enough that the exhaust levels shouldn't fluxuate enough to trip the O2, and even in that case, the O2 sensor wouldn't trip an EGR code, I don't beleive
