Exclamation Damn Autohaus

okay, once again, for the fifth or sixth time, i am having a problem with my power package. the package is by Autohaus and was authorized by Toyota to install it when i purchased my Yaris. this is getting to be very frustrating since i have to drive 63 miles each way from where i live to have it repaired. FIVE OR SIX TIMES! the package was 9% of the total cost of my car, and is 100% complete crap. honestly, i have had my car for less than 4 months. i picked it up in the middle of October, and i have already had 5 or 6 problems with the package. i have lost count and can't remember all the problems, but the majority dealt with the locks either not being able to unlock or lock. i am really ticked off about this since they're making me add miles to the car, depreciating its value, they force me to miss work and waste my time going there to have it repaired. and i'm also wasting gas! i do not find this right that they will not give me my money back for something that i paid 1400 bucks for and is not worth a single penny. it's complete come on 5 or 6 problems within this amount of time!? i'm not even comfortable using the remote to lock the car now!!!

lemon law?

in GA.. we have lemon law.. after 3 attempts for the same thing you can get another car. that means the 4th time for the same thing its all over.. new car.
you could ask for the owner of the store maybe you can get somewhere with him..
documents.. that speaks for itself and you dont have to say aword except slap down a note book with everything in it and let him look at the crap you've been through with a new car his store sold you.

i think it's 4 times here in Cali, but they have to be the EXACT same problem. they can't be similar, like in my case where the door locks act up, but on different doors. that doesn't count here. it has to be the same door, and exact problem 4 times. stupid in my opinion.

and it wasn't already w/ the car when he first purchased it so that counts itself out from the lemon law.

did toyota install it (meaning they hired the work or did it them selves)? did you pay for the job through toyota? was it when you purchased the car?

Toyota had Autohaus install it in my Yaris. Autohaus is Toyota's aftermarket company of choice, here at least. even before i picked up my car, the package was already installed. it has the same warranty as my Yaris, 3 years or 36k miles. this is really annoying...and the last time i had a problem repaired, Toyota said that they can give me a free tank of gas. i don't want a free tank of gas. that's just 20 bucks. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! as a customer, i don't feel that it's right that i keep on having to go back multiple times for something that shouldn't even be a major problem!

If he paid for it to Toyota its Toyota’s problem.
Plus if he asks for the owner of the dealership and explains his problems he may authorize a complete reinstall. You have to have all your documents and you are speaking to the MAIN man or woman. So you can never show any anger! You have to show complete despair. He will just make a phone call to the people who installed it and tell them to redo their crappy job or he won’t send them any more business. But you don’t act like you know that you act like Toyota is your hero. Also sometimes a person that is higher than the owner is a rep that comes from "Toyota" and evaluates the owners dealership and if they find out they are not taking care of a customer they will have their ass.. I have to look back in my documents and see what this person is called.

I had a sunroof problem on my car and after the 3 attempts it still leaked. That is an install that the dealership hired out as a factory installer. The 4th time i brought the car back as if for them still to fix it and contacted the "ford" rep that works for ford not the dealership. We talked and i found out when he was going to be at the dealer ship.. Just happened that morning the dealership called and said it was ready.. Well i went there when the rep was to be there and met up we walked out to the car with the top maintenance manager and it was not fixed. As a matter of a fact the car had a flat tire and had not even been moved from the spot i parked it in. I handed the Ford rep a folder with papers in it he opened the folder and saw all my documented info (did not read any of it) threw it in the seat of my car and turned and said get this man another car!

That’s that.. Lemon law..

I would think that all locks is one function, one system, one install, one harness, one kit. Understand what i am saying? If you don’t get help you move up to the next level of help. If you don’t like what they say you move on to the next person up! Don’t get mad.. Just go above him. You need "Toyota (manufacture)" backing not dealership backing! The dealership put the creditability on their outside company to install locks saying its as good or better than the manufacture to sell you the car. its not and the dealership needs to figure out what to do now.. Not you.. Just stand there and look at them like their stupid because it’s not fixed and that’s their job. Ask them how can you give me back a car that’s not fixed? And just stand there.. Staring.. lol..

yeah, that's what i thought too, but the GM told me that it has to be the exact same problem, not interrelating problems.

as for the next person up, how can i contact this rep person so that i will be able to know when he/she will be in the dealership.

i know that the owner of the dealership is supposed to talk to Autohaus to see what will happen, but i would think that if they can't solve the problem the first few times, then they won't be able to in the future. so i wouldn't mind getting a new Yaris. hey Go4th, can you PM me all the info that i will need? thank you very much.

Start with Toyota's Customer Experience Center. If it isn't a Toyota part, Toyota isn't going to stand behind it, but they can give the dealership a shove to get you taken car of.

I'd contact your state's consumer protection office or whatever it's called - it will be under your attorney general's office.

You may eventually need an attorney.

i think i will wait until the owner of the dealership and Autohaus talk to each other. if i do not like the outcome, then i will talk to Toyota's Customer Experience Center about it.

Also you should be bringing the car to the dealership you bought it at, not taking it down to autohouse yourself, thats the dealers problem not yours.

umm doesn't sacramento have toyota dealerships? your confusing me here???

since the car is warrantied by toyota , you could drive to the closest toyota dealership and drop it off, its then their problem how they get it fixed.

it gets crazy...Toyota is not allowed to do any work on the power package since it is an Autohaus product. Toyota authorized Autohaus to install the power package and gave it the same warranty as my Yaris. however, only Autohaus techs can do any work on the power package. and since Autohaus is an ass of a company, they are not willing to, and got mad at me when i asked them to go to Sac. some POS company they are. horrible service and even more horrible products. NEVER BUY ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS!
