Engine Warning Light

Last week,my engine warning light came on so i booked it into Toyota. They say its to do with the cars VVT-I.The car was in need of an oil and filter change so I had an oil and filter change yesterday and today the light has gone off.Could this have been the problem and the sonsor has detected that the problem has been solved.
Cheers.

Check Engine or Maintenance Required light? We have both on our US Models.
The Maintenance one does remind you an oil change is due. Check Engine is a completely different thing.

My manual does not say it has a maintainence light. The light that is showing is an orange engine sign.Does not state wether the car needs a service.
Cheers.

Hmm I swapped the MAF sensor from my Yaris to my sons 2000 ECHO and the light went out.

But I disconnected the battery for five minutes first.

I think someone reset your CEL.

BTW my yaris threw a code with the ECHOs MAF.

I bought a rebuilt one for $90.

The cel wasnt reset.Went to Toyota last week and they rest it.The light came back on on Thursday. On Friday,i got an oil change from a garage at the top of my street who dont have any gear to do a diognostic on the car.Drove the car home and the light was still on.Done the school run(8 miles)and it was still on.On Saturday, took the car out in the evening and somewhere on my trip i noticed the light had gone out.
