Gear position query

could you please define "B" and "S" in the 1.0L 2007 vitz gear system?

B equals backup and S goes for slow.

It's not answered in that thread either, but agreed S/B are definitely not slow and backup.

I'm near certain it means the transmission is a CVT. S is for Sport (probably higher revs for more power) and B is for extra engine braking. If it were a regular automatic it would have D/3/2/L.

It is answered in a link within that thread.

Yes, it is a CVT, and B is for braking and S for sport.

Need to be careful; jokes in English/American don't always translate well into other cultures, especially written ones...

B will shift you down a gear from what you would normally be in.

S will cause you to shift at higher RPMs than you would normally.

No - not always culturally correct (or even funny in the other language, come to that).
Always your problem.

Yeah - but how about a little tolerance for those who don't speak it as a first language. I'm not saying don't MAKE the joke, I'm just saying lighten up a little on the subject of those who don't speak your language - you may be stuck in THEIR country some day....
