Supercharger

Thinking of installing a supercharger, Should I accumilate more miles
before installation?
I'm not interested in a race car,but I would like a little more power on the
highway,when I need it.
Is this overkill?

Kinda pricey, man. Would be sweet, nonetheless.

Sounds like a much more reliable option than turbo, but it comes at a price. If you can find a used one with under 10k miles you might snag it for under 2grand (complete kit), otherwise new is almost $4k. If there were more step by step diy's with good screen shots I'd take a chance on the zage kit with aem f/ic (brand new with a boomslang harness and extra parts you can budget about $3grand), but it just seems like a much greater hassle.

Is your car a manual or automatic? If it's a manual, just downshift to 3rd and gun it. Third gear can take you up to about 80 mph, and the sweet spot for acceleration is around 55. Everything in between is around max torque.

im not sure if anyone else has tried to turbo or supercharge an auto, we did it with an auto echo and it required a standalone. there was no fooling the auto ecu. try it if you want, but we spent alot of money to make half way.

I am running a Blitz Supercharger on my AT, as are a few others. There is no difference with the Blitz kit for AT versus MT. The Blitz kit includes a fuel controller that piggybacks the existing ECM.

Depends on how/how much you use it. The Blitz SC has a 4 position switch that allows you to select off or three levels of throttle position for the supercharger to engage. I generally keep mine on and engaging at the least amount of throttle and I lose about 2-3 MPGs.

I got 135whp and 130 wtq with the s/c and I/h/e and 7.5L/100km all city with my 5speed....down from 7L/100km with just I/h/e

So I think that's 34mpg city without and 32mpg with the supercharger

It's by far the best thing I've done with mine. The difference in taking off from a stop and the ability to pass on the highway going up hill make it really worth while.

How has durability been effected? Not like I have $2-3k laying around for a supercharger. But still...

So far so good, with about 5,000 miles since I installed it, but there are a few people who have had them on for 4-5 years now. The best way to buy one is used. I picked mine up for $1,600.

Is that $1,600 for the full kit? Do you know if the older models will fit the 2012?

Thanks :D
