Pink gunk eminating from Engine Hose

When I was cleaning the battery terminals on my 2008 Hatchback I noticed that a pinkish/purple fluid had crusted over on a cable that leads out from the engine. Can someone help me identify what cable this is and what might be going on?

Thanks!

That's not a cable - It is a coolant hose going to the throttle body (used to heat the air entering the throttle body). Coolant is the pink fluid that is leaking.

Thanks CTScott. Should I be concerned about this or just clean it up?

I would replace the hose or at least check it and replace the clamp.

I had the same last year. Coolant hose clamp on the throttle body had failed.

On that hose it is likely just a weak clamp. However, it is also possible for the hose to be leaking. It should be fixed as it may prevent the engine from sucking coolant from the reservoir (and it can pop off or burst if bad enough).
