Anyoing mechanical rattle - Something serious?
Hi.
I recently bought an Toyota Yaris -05, mileage is about 60k. I have a rattle sound coming somewhere around the engine on the left side. It's very strong around 2000 rpms and when I'm accelerating. Its only there when the engine is on load. The sound is not there when the engine is idling or when gasing without any gear in. I've been to the mechanic twice but each time the sound hasn't been there. They guy sat in the passenger seat but we couldn't hear anything. Strange? Anyhow, I decided to record the sound just to have something to show for the mechanic. What do you guys think about the sound? In my ears this is not normal. I really hope its an easy fix or something similar, because a transmission fault or such would kill my bank account right now... Here is a link to the video I recorded: http://youtu.be/SBtu-oTWxv8 Thanks for your help! |
