Hid's in stock housing?

Anyone using hid's in stock housing on here? I've tried led headlights and they fucking suck hands down. My yaris sedan light housing doesn't like led' s. I don't wanna tear apart my headlights and do a projector set up so if hid's in the factory housing will blind people I'll leave it as is. Seems like some cars are less blinding with hid's than others

Not sure why LED would suck.

I am running HID with the stock reflectors. I am going to swap them to LED see how I like them once they arrive in the mail.

Here are my crappy 4300k bulbs with BMW ballasts

I can't get good light output with led bulbs no matter how many times I've aimed them perfectly. How much of an improvement were those hid's over the halogen?

Imo stock with the Stock bulbs and avoid hid's unless you are going to properly run projectors. Its not a huge job but it does take some time. I'd recommend having another set of headlights to do the retrofit on so you still have working light for your car while you work on them

I'm using LED lights and they work quite well actually way better than HIDs ...now one does have to make sure you installed the bulbs the right way...cos mine actually have top and bottom so if not in the right way they won't work right now matter how u try and adjust .

AFAIK, not all HID are equal. But I've had great success with bi-xenon bulbs.

Here is my setup, 4300k cheap HID bulbs, BMW ballasts and LED fogs

The ballasts that came with the HID kit did not light up the bulbs to all its power, so they turned like 5000k

The 4300k looks great actually and the color hardly differs from the factory bulbs. What did you find the light output like?

The ballast input is standard, so you can use the same 12v input lead from any HID kit harness.

As for the bulb connection, you just need to cut the D2S/D2R connector and replace with a connector of your choice, or use the ones from and old aftermarket ballast.

Ya, I believe the stock Philips bulbs from most luxury cars are 4500K which give it a lighter yellow tint. It's the first time I installed these bulbs because my previous best was rigged to fit.

Light output is much stronger than halogen (obviously). I love driving at night with them.

I'm just waiting for my LED kit to arrive and try that out.

Ive ran PnP HIDs in my sedan...the actual light output on the ground was horrible and highbeams were a joke.

Best solution is HID retrofit projectors. I absolutely love mine and their is simply no comparison.

If you do not want to go that route look into Osram Nightbreaker bulbs. Outstanding output for a simple bulb swap. Way better and cheaper then HID PnP in stock reflectors and you will not cause a safety hazard.

For $30~ you cannot go wrong. And when your ready to step up to real output...HID projectors are just getting better and better with time and you can always get a second set housings to play with.

I used my original housings and just layed up the car for a few days no biggie.

This is my light output. The LED seem to overpower the HID and lights up as far as my HID does.
HID only

And with the LED fogs on
