1zz tb idle control (allen wrench)

idle stays high between 900-1000 when i drive around town...after 20 second it calms down to 750-800...everybody said chip away the epoxy and turn counter clock wise to slow the idle..felt like it wasnt calming down...so i rotated clock wise and feels like its still the same..i mean it goes down to 650rpm but still takes time...now my allen wrench fu*ked up the screw part where i cannot even spin it anymore..fml 😂😂😂😂😂

it's not that bad. you will need to drill it out and tap with a new bolt if you still need adjustments. should take 30 minutes if you have a drill and a tap and die set. maybe a left-handed drill bit or remover.
I found it was easer to adjust the idle speed when the engine was cold. I had mine idling at like 500, but it caused a CEL, so I bumped it up a 1/4 turn at a time until it stopped setting code.

I had mine down to about 650, anything lower and I found it was rough at idle and not "comfortable" at that rpm. It still took 20 or so seconds for it to go down to that rpm on a warm start. That's just part of having the 1zz TB, it's not a problem just a difference relative to the stock TB

If you have any leaks, you'll never get it dialed in right. Don't ask how I know. I ended up replacing my adjustment screw with a 1/4-20 cap screw, and it "mostly" worked.
